Heres a list of SP Flash tool errors, what they mean and how to fix / resolve them. Well keep adding to the list so keep checking, and feel free to contribute.
Phone is totally dead
Message: Phone no longer responds to power button
Solution: Follow this guide @ hovatek
Phone still not working after flashing
Message: Phone still stuck at Bootlogo or Bootloop
Solution:
* Ensure theres a formatted SD card in the phone before flashing
* Give up to 5 minutes because first boot takes time
* Boot the phone into recovery mode then wipe data / factory reset
* Remove the battery for 30 seconds then slot back in
* Try a firmware upgrade . use MTK droid tools version 2.3.0 to backup usrdata & cache or copy then from the clockworkmod backup
* Try a firmware / ROM from another source
Phone shows white screen, strange colors or divided screen after flashing
Message: You can see the phone responding to buttons and making sound but all is blurred by white screen
* Solution: The ROM / Firmware you flashed is incompatible, get from another source (especially boot.img , logo.bin and uboot.bin / lk.bin )
Phone automatically disconnecting during flashing
Message: The phone makes the disconnecting sound just as flashing begins, interrupting the process
Solution:
* Try a different USB cord, USB port & PC
* Connect the phone to PC via USB cord > Go to device manager > If the device appears as Mediatek DA USB, right-click this item and select Update driver > Proceed with manual driver installation as described @ hovatek.com
* Try holding down the Volume decrease (you could try volume increase or both) while connecting the phone to PC for flashing
Sp Flash tool remains at 0%
Message: Phone only shows charging sign
Meaning: Necessary drivers have not been successfully installed on the PC
Solution:
* Follow this guide @ hovatek.com to manually install vcom drivers
Error 5054
Message: BROM ERROR S_DL_GET_DRAM_SETTINGS_FAIL (5054) please check your load matches your target which is to be downloaded
Meaning: The files youre trying to flash do not belong to or are not compatible with the phone youre trying to flash them to
Solution:
* Ensure youre using the correct files. If youre sure they are, then try formatting before flashing again
Initialize scatter failed
Message: Error: Initialize scatter file failed. Please check the scatter file name you load is legal
Meaning: SP Flash tool doesnt accept the name format of your scatter file
Solution:
* Ensure the scatter file wasnt renamed. If youre certain it wasnt, try a higher version of SP Flash tool
Error 8038
Message: Error 8038! Android download pmt is ready and layout has been changed
Meaning: SP Flash tool is having trouble writing to certain partitions due to some incompatibility
Solution:
* Format the phone in SP flash tool (Do not format Bootloader) then try flashing the files again using Download
* If Download doesnt work then do a firmware upgrade
* If the MTK backup contains more than one scatter file, retry flashing with the other scatter file.
* If that isnt feasible, try formatting first or use firmware upgrade
* If that doesnt work, open the scatter file using Notepad++ and change __NODL_FAT to FAT by removing "__NODL_" .
Error 4032
Message: BROM ERROR : S_FT_ENABLE_DRAM_FAIL (4032) [EMI] Enable DRAM fail
Meaning: SP Flash tool is unable to enable DRAM / communicate effectively with the device
Solution:
* Ensure that the file(s) youre trying to flash are actually for your exact phone model
* Ensure you tick the boxes for only the files present in the ROM youre about to flash
* Probably have the wrong driver installed. Uninstall vcom, preloader and MTK drivers using usb deview then manually re-install using hovatek.com
* Delete the sp flash tool folder then re-extract
* Ensure the phone is switched off (with battery still inside) before connecting to PC for flashing.
* If that doesnt work, keep holding down the volume decrease button just before connecting the phone to PC for flashing (you could try volume increase , power + volume decrease or power + volume increase).
* Consider using the latest version of Sp Flash tool
* Format the phone before trying to flash the file(s) again
Error 5056
Message: BROM ERROR : S_DL_PMT_ERR_NO_SPACE (5069)
Meaning: The size of a file is larger than the available / possible partition size
Solution:
* Ensure that the file(s) youre trying to flash are actually for your exact phone model
* Try another stock ROM
Error 4001
Message: S_FT_DA_NO_RESPONSE or
Meaning: SP flash tool is having difficulty communicating with the device
Solution:
* Change the USB-port and transfer SP Flash Tool to the root of your main hard drive ( C: ) then run as admin
* Ensure to install the correct drivers (see hovatek.com )
Sp flash tool was successful but phones calibration doesnt work
Message: Soft keys and touch screen dont work / respond
Solution:
* Edit the scatter file using Notepad++ and remove NODL__ (or set is_download: false to is_download: true ) in front of the items you have in the backup folder but arent listed when you load the scatter file in SP flash tool. This way, these items will become listed when next you load the scatter file (after saving of course) and therefore flashable
Error 4008
Message: BROM ERROR : S_FT_DOWNLOAD_FAIL (4008)
Meaning: SP Flash tool encountered an error while attempting to flash files
Solution:
* Ensure the battery is in the phone and the phone is switched off before connecting for flashing
* Try using a higher version of SP flash tool
* Change the USB cord and port or PC
* Use the format option then download in SP flash tool

Norton Ghost menyediakan fungsi backup dan restore dengan mudah. Dengan bantuan Hiren’s Boot CD, Anda bisa melakukan prose backup dan restore instalasi Sistem Operasi Anda dengan mudah, praktis dan cepat
Persiapan :
- Komputer atau Notebook target yang dilengkapi drive CD/DVD untuk menjalankan Hiren’s Boot CD. Saya sarankan minimal terdapat 2 partisi, sistem C:/ atau drive yang berisi instalasi Windows dan partisi lain untuk menyimpan image
- CD Hiren’s Boot CD 11 berisi Norton Ghost 11.5 atau Hiren’s Boot USB Flashdisk
- Flashdisk/keping DVD untuk menyimpan backup file image (Optional)
- Norton Ghost Dapat di download di bawah postingan
Prinsip kerja
Pada dasarnya, ada dua langkah yang Anda lakukan
Membuat backup Data Partisi PC yang berisi Sistem Operasi Windows ke dalam File Image . File ini berisi rekaman komplit file sistem operasi Anda berikut program yang telah ter-install didalamnya. File ini harus disimpan di partisi selain partisi Windows itu sendiri. Misalnya Anda punya C:/ yang bersi instalasi Windows, Anda harus menyimpan file image di partisi lain selain di partisi C:/ seperti di partisi D, E atau di External hardisk.
Perlu saya tekankan bahwa, langkah ini mutlak diperlukan jika Anda ingin bisa melakukan langkah restorasi/pemulihan sistem dengan cepat. Dengan kata lain, tanpa adanya file Image Anda tidak bisa melakukan restorasi Windows.
Restorasi Windows. Jika terjadi sesuatu, anda bisa memanggil file backup yang telah Anda buat sebelumnya untuk memulihkan instalasi Windows persis seperti saat file image yang dibuat.
Langkah Membuat File Image.- Masukkan Hiren’s Boot Flashdisk USB atau Hiren’s Boot CD sesuai dengan preferensi Anda.
- Nyalakan komputer, masuk ke BIOS dengan menekan DEL/F2/F8/F12 sesuai dengan BIOS PC Anda.
- Masuk ke Bagian Boot Sequence/Urutan Booting. Pastikan media yang Anda gunakan menempati urutan pertama booting. Misalnya: Anda memilih menggunakan CD Hiren’s, pastikan CDROM berada pada posisi booting pertama.
- Pada menu Booting Hiren’s, pilih ‘Start Boot CD’
- Pada Menu Utama Hiren’s, Pilih [2.] Backup Tool > [2.] Norton Ghost 11.5 > [8.]Ghost (Normal). Tunggu beberapa saat hingga program Norton Ghost berjalan. Klik [OK]
- Pilih Harddisk Fisik yang akan di backup. Biasanya Windows ada pada Local (1) seperti pada contoh, [OK].
- Pilih Partisi Harddisk yang akan di backup. Biasanya Windows ada pada Primary Drive seperti pada contoh, [OK]. Perhatikan atribut lainnya seperti File System (NTFS/FAT32), Label, Ukuran dsb. Pastikan Anda memilih drive yang tepat.
- Tentukan Partisi Harddisk mana yang akan digunakan untuk menyimpan file backup image. Beri nama pada file, misalnya Backup_1 kemudian klik [SAVE]. Perhatikan bahwa harddisk ditulis dalam urutan seperti berikut; D:1.2:[DATA] FAT, artinya adalah:
- D: = Drive D:
- 1.2: = merupakan Harddisk Fisik Pertama Partisi Kedua
- [DATA] = label DATA
- FAT = File System FAT32
- Selanjutnya akan muncul dialog kompresi Image File, pilih salah satu berdasarkan keterangan berikut:
- Pilih No = jika Anda tidak ingin mengubah file image dari ukuran file windows sebenarnya
- Pilihan FAST = kompresi cepat, hasilnya kurang lebih 30% dari ukuran file sebenarnya
- Pilihan HIGH = kompresi tingi, hasilnya bisa sampai 60% dari ukuran file asli meski prosesnya akan sedikit lebih lambat.
- Dianjurkan Anda memilih pilihan ini untuk menghemat space harddisk. Karena Norton Ghost tidak mengubah isi file image, hanya ukuran filenya saja yang dipadatkan. Persis seperti yang dilakukan oleh WinZIP atau WinRAR.
- Ketika muncul
dialog box ‘Procesed with partition image creation?’ Pilih [YES]
- Tunggu beberapa saat hingga proses selesai dan muncul Image Box ‘Image Creation Completed Successfully’, klik [Continue]. Klik [Quit] untuk keluar dari Program.
Sampai di sini Anda sudah punya satu file image dari sistem operasi Anda yang sewaktu-waktu bisa dipanggil kembali untuk melakukan restorasi. Anda bisa menggunakan Flashdisk atau Media DVD untuk menyimpan file Image ini, hanya untuk berjaga-jaga.
Merestore Windows dari Backup File Image- Boot dari Hiren’s Boot CD atau Hiren’s Boot USB Flashdisk
- Pada menu Booting Hiren’s, pilih ‘Start Boot CD’
- Pada Menu Utama Hiren’s, Pilih [2.] Backup Tool > [2.] Norton Ghost 11.5 > [8.]Ghost (Normal). Tunggu beberapa saat hingga program Norton Ghost berjalan. Klik [OK].
- Pilih Menu > Local > Partition > From Image untuk me-restore partisi dari file image yang tadi telah kita buat.
- Temukan file Image dengan ekstensi .GHO pada drive penyimpanan Anda. Pilih, dan akhiri dengan Open.
- Pilih Partisi sumber/Source file image kemudian klik [OK]
- Pilih Harddisk fisik tujuan/Destination Restorasi Windows, [OK]
- Pilih Partisi Harddisk tujuan/Destination Restorasi. Pilih Primary [OK]
- Ketika Muncul Dialog Box ‘Prosses With Partition Restore?’ klik [Yes]
- Tunggu hingga selesai 100%
- Klik [Reset Computer] untuk me-restart Komputer.
